Google says No to Free Navigation app for iPhone

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the bitter truth is that Google has cut short the celebrations of the free GPS powered turn by turn app for iPhone. The search engine giants have thrown away the possibility of landing the app on Apple's successful mobile platform.

This development reveals that Google's plan to bring the sat-nav app for other mobile platforms didn't include iPhone, which is disappointing for the iDevice nation.

This whole saga started on Thursday where a Google executive revealed their plans for bringing the navigation app to other platforms. Here is how Google spokesperson broke the news to PCWorld:

We did not say we would bring it to iPhone, we said to date we've had it on Android and that in the future it may come to other platforms but did not confirm this will be coming to iPhone at all

OK fine enought we get it, but what's the thinking that led to this decision. After all we are talking about a platform which is on its way up and growing rapidly.
