Would you believe it folks? It has been around a week since Vodafone UK started taking pre-orders for Nexus One and already they have run out of the first Android 2.1 phone stock.
This news becomes all the more surprising considering the fact that it had a not so impressive launch in US with slow and meagre sales reported by many sources. However, with this development it seems that the balance has shifted in the favor of Nexus One.
Just like you, Vodafone folks themselves are surprised over this unexpected shortage as they expressed it in their statement:
Thank you for placing your order, reference number. Unfortunately we have suffered a surprisingly high demand for the Nexus One From Google, which means that it is unexpectedly out of stock. Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused. We hope to have further stock available within 7-10 working days and will contact you again once your order has been dispatched.
I for one am interested in knowing the exact number of units that the Vodafone had in their stock for the launch. This count will really tell how successful this device is going to be in UK.
