Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Lucid Lynx Release Candidate is now available for download. As we have been expecting many changes here and there, we can finally see many changes being implemented. Many new features have been implemented that took us by surprise. Also some changes, despite being announced cannot be seen in this Release Candidate. We are here covering a thorough review of Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Lucid Lynx Release Candidate.We have not seen many major visual changes since Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx Beta 2. But still, there are some:
First of all the default Humanity icons now have a darker color for folder icons:
The second visual change is that the default sound icon was changed in all media players including Rhythmbox, Totem and so on:
This new icon looks a bit ugly and most users will not be happy with this change.
The major change that was announced and we were expecting was that Yahoo will replace Google as the default search engine in Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Lucid Lynx RC, but Google is still the default search engine:
The most significant change that we noticed is that, Ubuntu 10.04 LTS RC has a new set of wallpapers:

The next major change we saw in applications and menu is that Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx RC integration with one of most popular cloud office application, Zoho. Even though it is not installed by default, you can search for the same in Ubuntu software center or you can install it from the terminal by typing:
sudo apt-get install webservice-office-zoho
The next change that took us by surprise was that there is a new Ajax powered application in Ubuntu repos named Desktop Webmail, which you can use to get your mail from Gmail, Hotmail and Yahoo via POP3 or IMAP. You can set is as default webmail application instead of Evolution:
You can install it from terminal by the following command:
sudo apt-get install desktop-webmail
The next update is related to Ubuntu One Music Store. Now Banshee media player has got a plugin for Ubuntu One Music Store too. You can install it by typing in the terminal:
sudo apt-get install banshee-extension-ubuntuonemusicstore
The last change that we noticed is that, now Avant Windows Manager 0.4 final is now available in Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx repository. You can install it by typing in the terminal:
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install avant-window-navigator awn-extras-applets
