Firefox 4 release delayed till early 2011

The major update version of popular internet browser by Mozilla, the Firefox, and the Firefox 4 which is to be the update has gotten its release delayed up until early 2011, as it was originally destined to be released by late 2010.

Firefox director Mike Beltzner wrote on the mozilla.dev.planning mailing list that:

The user interface changes are converging, the graphics and layout features are wrapping up, and recently the JavaScript engine was dramatically improved. The result is a fast, capable Firefox that provides better speed and responsiveness for web applications and users. Completing this work is taking longer than initial estimates indicated as we track down regressions and sources of instability. As part of our commitment to beta users, we will not ship software before it is ready.

Some of the improvements expected in the Firefox 4 are a redesign of the overall user interface, the HTML5 support, an added improved support for add-ons and also the multi-touch functionality. As reported on the Mozilla Firefox 4 Beta Wiki, the general release is expected around early 2011.
