T-Mobile Android phones getting WiFi call option

T-Mobile just can’t keep itself out of the spotlight. Hot on the heels of announcing the new/improved myTouch, T-Mobile has made an announcement that will please all of its Android based users. The US based carrier has decided to enable WiFi calling option for its Android powered devices.

Here’s the announcement that brought smile on the faces of the T-Mobile subscribers:

T-Mobile USA, Inc. today announced its continued innovation of Wi-Fi Calling technology with the upcoming availability of built-in Wi-Fi Calling solutions planned for a wide selection of Android™-powered smartphones

T-Mobile latest Android offerings in myTouch and Motorola DEFY will be one of the devices to get this cost saving option. And Yes, not only you can make phone calls, you can also send SMS to your loved ones. Kineto’s Smart Wi-Fi Application will be doing the laborious task on your behalf. You can use this option by using T-Mobile own network or by using the available WiFi networks.

The Press Release didn’t contain a list of devices that will be getting the WiFi call support. All it mentioned was that an increasing number of Android smartphones will be getting this useful SMS/call option in the coming months.
