HTC was in London today for its highly anticipated press media event and as expected the event was full of interesting announcements. And if you think the event was all about new smartphone announcements, then you know just one part of the excitement filled event. The Taiwanese cellphone manufacturers have announced that its high profile HTC Sense is getting a major update.
Some of the features which are discussed below will make you think that it is similar to Apple’s MobileMe but believe me it is more than that. HTC will be launching an HTC Sense dedicated site called htcsense.com in October which will offer the following productive set of features:
- Take backup of your precious HTC Device which will include your valuable contacts, text messages, call history, customizations and data.
- Remotely locate your smartphone. When using the locate feature the phone will ring at a high volume even if it is in silent mode. This is followed by the phone reporting its location on a map.
- In case your phone gets lost/stolen, you have the option to remotely lock or wipe your device for that matter.
Besides this, the customization UI also brings some cool and funny camera effects. A new online book store will be making your way with the new HTC Sense called Koboรค along with a new, mobile-optimized e-reader.
