Nokia Launches Two New Phones C2-01 and X2-01

Nokia has announced the launch of two new feature phones, the C2-01 and X2-01. According to Nokia, “both aim to offer maximum functionality for the lowest price possible, but with a different emphasis to each to provide a fit for the needs of as many people as possible.”

Here’s the details of both these phones,though there are some similarities between these two.
Nokia C2-01

The Nokia C2-01 boasts of fast data services through its 3G connectivity feature. It’s a series 40 phone featuring a traditional keypad, a 3.2MP camera, 2-inch screen, music player, FM radio, Bluetooth, and memory card support up to 16GB. As compared to the first Nokia C2 phone, the C2-01 is not dual-sim capable. This phone also has Nokia Messaging for email and IM, threaded view for SMS and chat conversations, OVI Store, Ovi Music and Ovi Life Tools support.

Physically, it’s 109.8 x 46.9 x 15.3mm and weighs 89g. It will be available from the first Quarter of 2011. The price is expected to be around €70, before local taxes and operator subsidies.

Nokia X2-01

Next up is the Nokia X2-01, a “device for social networking and fast communications.” This one looks more like a BlackBerry and comes with a full QWERTY keypad, a Communications app that integrates Facebook status updates, and one-click access to your Facebook wall.

It comes with a 2.4-inch QVGA screen and a VGA camera on the back. The Nokia X2-01 measures 119.4 x 59.8 x 14.3mm and weighs 107.5g. It supports memory cards up to 8GB. There’s no WiFi and only GPRS/EDGE data, but that’s compensated for by the low price.

The Nokia X2-01 is going to be available from this Quarter and the price is expected be around €80, before local taxes and operator subsidies are applied.

Expect the Nokia C2-01 to be available during the first quarter of 2011 for around $95. The Nokia X2-01 is expected to hit store shelves before the year ends and will be available for around $100.
